Audio Recording

Recording audio and sound is a basic concept in principal, and yet it is as much an art as a science.

In it's early incarnation, recording sound was captured from a device such as a microphone while simultaniously transferred as an electrical analog/digital signal to a storage device. The storage devices evolved from wax cylinders, then wire and eventually tape became the storage medium of choice with vinyl records being the consumer method of enjoying finished audio recordings.

Today it is stored on a variety of digital media like your computer hard drive, a micro-chip like your mp3 player and a variety of digital discs like CD and DVD.
